Imam Fuad

Imam Fuad is the resident scholar with MAS Bay Area. At a young age, he started seeking knowledge with his local imam. After completing high school, he traveled to Egypt to attend al-Azhar, and then returned to serve the Seattle community as an Imam and a lecturer at different masjids. He has also established learning centers for children, youth and adults. He has earned Ijazahs (licenses) in many fields of Islamic Sciences, including over 50 Ijazahs hadith and its sciences, fiqh, and tafsir. 

Imam Fuad graduated from the University of Washington with a double major in Community Psychology and Educational Studies as well as a minor in Policy Studies. 

Imam Fuad was born in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. He’s married and is a father of 3 children. He is a lover of Islamic history, and loves to read. 

Heroes of Islam

  • In these sessions we will go into the stories of Heroes in Islam after the death of the prophet pbuh and his companions.
  • Exploring these figures will not only teach people about these figure but also allow us to learn from and emulate heroes from recent history

Style

    • Weekly lectures for the general public in Masajid

    Fresh Air

    Imam Fuad

      Program

    • This program will gather the community for a discussion on tafsir and hadith after fajr prayer allowing people to breath in the fresh air
    • We will contemplate Allah’s words, teachings of the prophet pbuh and Allah’s creation.

    Audience

    • Everyone is welcome

    Style

    • Every weekend after fajr in the masjid 

     

    Sunnah Circle

    Imam Fuad

    Program

    • Imam Fuad will lead formal and structured Islamic studies classes. 
    • In these classes we will use trusted books as a guide to study Usul fiqh, fiqh, seerah, hadith, usol ul hadith, and tafsir. 

    Audience

    • Ages 15-18

    Style

    • The sessions will be once or twice a week for 10-12 weeks 

    Seekers Circle

    Imam Fuad

    • Imam Fuad will lead formal and structured Islamic studies classes. 
    • In these classes we will use trusted books as a guide to study Usul fiqh, fiqh, seerah, hadith, usol ul hadith, and tafsir.

    • Ages 19+

    • The sessions will be once a week for 10-12 weeks

    Socratic Seminars

    • A series of interactive sessions talking about various philosophical and Islamic topics 
    • We will cover what various philosophers, intellectuals, and scientists have said about the topic as well as what Islam says about the topic

    World Within

    Farah Daher 

    Program

    • Explores matters of the heart, the world of tazkiya (self-purification), and how to journey inwards to show up better for Allah swt, yourself, and your family
    • These sessions are intended to break through running on autopilot and going through the motions

    Munir Iqtish

    • Discover prayer beyond motion, covering: the importance of prayer, abolition, prerequisites of prayer and mandatory parts of prayer, concentration in prayer
    • This series covers rituals of the heart

    Corporate Connect

    • This program aims to connect Muslims from different tech companies to collaborate with each other, work on projects together, provide a network of resources, and give back to the community

    New Fathers Halaqa

    • This program acts as a support group for young fathers where members engage in discussions about being a young father in the bay area, advice on parenting Islamically, and more

    • A series of social justice topics to encourage people to raise awareness and be more active in fighting social justice issues in their community.
    • These sessions would cover topics such as: intro to social justice,  feminism and violence, homelessness, and human trafficking

    Islamic Finance for Dummies

    • We cover the islamic perspective on spending and being mindful of money as well as how we should view money as Muslims
    • We will explore how to pay zakat, how to be financially independent and more!

    Growing Up

    • We discuss necessary topics for every growing young girl including puberty and sex-education
    • These sessions go over topics such as periods, proper ways to purify ones body, and more
